A message to recording artists

By: G. Craige Lewis | EX Ministries

microphonePlease hear my heart! God came to me and spoke this message to me plainly. He is tired of what is going on. He has waged war against the secular industry for it’s negative influence on this world. The secular industry has embraced Satan and his plan. They have brought forth the most powerful demonic spirit of influence that this world has ever seen. The same spirit that was in heaven and was cast down. It is the true spirit of the anti-Christ! Hip hop was birthed through it and now it is controlling the industry. When you join forces with secular artists, you are working against God. You see, gone are the days when you could try to minister from within the secular industry. The secular industry now claims salvation just like you!

They feel that they are okay with God. They are lead astray by the carnality of Christians that desire to mix and mingle with them. And now, they serve their own gods. They serve their own lusts. They defile the minds of youth everywhere and you are giving them your stamp of approval by recording with them, working with them, singing and performing with them.

God wants you out of the secular industry! He never ordained secular record deals for Christians. He never called music to exist by itself without being subject to the church! He never ordained music to leave it’s covering. But now, it’s hard for some big name Gospel artists to minister in the church. Many times we have to go to secular venues and pay money to hear Gospel music! If you are signed to a company and God is not in control, then it will be hard to stay true to your ministry. God never made his ministry subject to secular powers. That would be like your Pastor being governed by a secular power and told what he can or cannot preach! Artists, beware! God is coming to set the record straight. He is commanding you to clean house. Repent! Do not support the evil one, or his workers. God is gonna reclaim his gifts, his music, and his ministries. He is drawing a line between the secular and the righteous. Which side are you standing on!

There is a lot of us who agree with you and your ministry but do not have a large venue as you. Some are afraid to go against the grain because music run the church now, not the word. I thank you and love you.

If we love GOD , nothing should be able to separate us from his love . Romans 8 : 38-39 , being catered to all the time and constantly being praised, will make most humans see themselves as being above others . It is the same thing the wicked one felt and as the Pastor said, the same thing at work now. Pride comes before the fall. HE wishes that none should perish. HE loves the work of his hands. HE built this earth to be inhabited. What artist, ( painter, potter, writer ) seeing his work at risk would not try and save it. Same thing with GOD.

I remember watching an interview with you and another Pastor and you mentioned the church owning the music. I generally think that’s the only possible way for “up and coming” artists to do. I mean is that an actual pure gospel record label somewhere in the world?

    1. Rosiland Fletcher

That is the whole problem M. Everyone is looking for a label. Why don’t we just look for God. Christianity is not about a label. It’s about the word of God. The gift is to bless God. If perhaps God blesses us to make a living by it, thank God. Christians are seeking money by way of the world, THE MUSIC.

The first time viewing one of your videos I discerned that your ministry was one of calling the body of Christ to be separated from the world and unto holiness or doing things God’s way.
Thanks for the insights and inspirations.

That is what I told some people about LaCrae and other Christian-like artist that perform songs with secular artist and have recording deals with secular companies. Then they say I am judging, too critical or a Pharsiee. God never us to mix the world with the church. Thank you for sharing what God told you!

I you sign a record deal with fame wealth in mind you already know where you are heading to! you cannot claim to be in the light and mix with darkness. You can hold on to carnality at thesame time embrace divinity! 1Cor13:6 love rejoiceth not in iniquity! God bless EXM!

Gospel Music is a gift from God which is being song is making money for it efforts first from the world! So the Church has a right to hear what God has given Singers as a gift to used to Bless the people that attend Church every Sunday. I think that is fair to let it be free for the sake of the Gospel.

Amen bro lewis.tamala Mann was just down here where I live and the cost to see her was $65,$45, and $25.she performed at a church and was surprised the pastor allowed that in his church.this is evil and demonic.why I gotta pay to see and hear you sing.I thought ministering in song was FREE!God bless ex ministries!

To me the sadness part is when some Pastor knows and understand whats go with the music industry and because they like the artist and their music and or it sound like or perpetrating as a worship song or songs and they like. Then the choir has to sing the song as well….SMH

I am a worship leader, soloist and songwriter in my country and this is one of my BIGGEST issues with Christian artistes who are compromising and doing exactly what Paul warned us not to do in Romans 12:1-2. Before I was a Christian I used to be involved in secular music so I know that there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING on that side of the fence for a true believer. It is a path that will lead to sure destruction. So to this article I release a resounding AMEN!!!!!

    Isaiah 24:16
From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, even glory to the righteous. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe unto me! the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.

Thank you for the preaching the truth in love and boldness, not many preachers will stand bold on the TRURH but praise God you can tell it as it and the brothers and sisters who ears let them hear it! Good read to the artist praying for them all to REPRNT and choose Jesus ways. Blessings!

  13. Lanecia Ducksworth

I can only imagine this is how it must have felt to hear Nathan, Isaiah, Jeremiah, or the other prophets speak. God give us an eye to see and perceive, ears to hear and understand! Convert us O God!

Isaiah 40:8 The grass witherth, The flower fadeth, and I might add this mixing music destroyed: but the word of God shall stand forever AND ALL OF GOD’S SHALL’S ARE LOADED, GOD Requires a lifestyle of HOLINESS IT’S THE ONLY WAY THE CHRISTIAN MUSIC ARENA THEY MUST TRUST GOD and HIS WORD GOD’S WORD IS SHARPER THAN ANY TWOEDGE SWORD IN THE CHURCH THEIR FLESH IS IN CONTROL AND NOT GOD’S WORD DEUTERONOMY 30:19 THIS DAY I CALL THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH, AS WITNESSES AGAINST YOU, THAT I HAVE SET BEFORE YOU LIFE AND DEATH, blessings and curses NOW CHOOSE LIFE SO THAT YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN MAY LIVE THE GOSPEL MUSIC INDUSTRY BETTER LISTEN TO THE VOICE OF THE LORD BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE GOD IS SOUNDING THE ALARM ON ALL GOSPEL ARTIST HEAR YE THE WORD OF THE LORD

  16. Kevin Irving

    Recently,

I was driving and God spoke in my spirit that the music industry began almost pure/centered on God (Gospel) and clean but just like the payment of sin leads to death (separation from God) that the music industry does the same. It’s now in a state where if you agree with what is played on the radio by listening to it, it has the element to force a separation from God in it. It is so focused on carnality that it now fills people with what grieves the spirit of God. May God have mercy on us all for allowing it to get this far. I do my best to avoid all music except to sing in my heart Psalms, and occasionally I listen to Jazz. However I still don’t think that is okay either.

  17. Eileen

Well said. For too long, we have watched Christians singing in church as a performance, not as worship to the Lord. The words have no meaning and too much rock involved. God is holy!

  18. Nathaniel Jordan

Once again, I am blessed by the truths the Lord has given you. I have been following you for a little less than 10 years now and I see God is making you stronger. I thank God for you all at EX Ministries/TV.

  19. Emmanuel Unuafe

Secular music has the greatest influence on the youths in my country Nigeria. Churches pay musicians and comedians to come and entertainment its members, they say they are having a good time with the Lord. Thank you for preaching the Word at a time as this when people are deaf to the truth. Thanks for allowing God to use your ministry and you to sharpen our spirit senses to the mind of God. God revealed to me in 2011 in a dream something similar about Christian artists going out of His will, when I saw how they try to get endorsement from the secular music promoters, and it leads to a compromise on God’s standard and then they start preaching a false grace (not the grace Apostle Paul talks about). God cannot be mocked. #mayhiskingdomcome

Not that this ministry needs no confirmation from us, but this is an authentic and prophetic warning, I shudder from it because it is going to come to pass.

I was convicted of this on a much smaller scale. I play piano and teach piano/voice as well as play for weddings and nursing homes. Recently I was offered a high paying job to play at a restaurant/lounge once a week. I needed the money. Went to the audition- they loved me but I had a bad feeling. You see I had played in clubs and restaurants before and lived in the world. But God brought me out of that and redeemed me. But I pushed the voice of the Holy Spirit down and did the first night anyway. I needed the money to pay my debts so I used plausible justification as an excuse. All weekend after I took the first large chunk of money I felt guilty. While I was playing I felt convicted. The bar tender said to me “your playing was so beautiful that many patrons ordered more drinks than normal. You are great for business!” I even high fived her with my great accomplishment. Then I went to church and then the Lord gave me a dream and showed me from a distance what my life looked like. I knew I was contributing to the downfall of others and taking myself right back to the places that God had brought me out of. I prayed and asked for forgiveness. I talked to my husband because I knew we needed the money but he said-“no money is worth that.” I called the restaurant/lounge and quit because words without actions means nothing to God. Bottom line is anything I do that is not pleasing to God can discredit all that I do for Him. Thank you God for your convicting power.

    1. Rosiland Fletcher

Beautiful testimony. I am sure that a lot of people is struggling with this because of the need for money. I know my grandson need this testimony.

Always a little late in watching video with the articles ( I like reading ) but , Mr. Mosley said something that was simple , profound and as old as the first scam ” if it sells don’t buy it ” . Words to shop by for this music and preachers.
