An American evangelist said he was arrested and interrogated about his Christian faith after he was caught on a London sidewalk preaching that homosexuality is a sin. Tony Miano, a retired deputy sheriff and former chaplain with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Dept., was charged with “using homophobic speech that could cause people anxiety, distress, alarm or insult.”

Miano had been preaching on a London street corner during the Wimbledon Tennis Championships with a ministry group called Sports Fan Outreach International.

He was preaching about immoral living – and cited homosexuality as an example of lifestyle choices that are contrary to biblical teaching.

“I never used any gay slurs,” he said. “You would never hear me using slang or discriminatory language against homosexuals or any other group. That would be contrary to my faith.”

At some point, the evangelist quoted I Thessalonians 4:1-2 – a passage of scripture that mentions sexual immorality.

Miano said the woman came back a short time later and began to videotape his sidewalk sermon. Then, she called the police.

“They were concerned about homophobic speech,” he said. “But I told them I don’t fear homosexuals. The language I used was not homophobic, as I was not promoting fear or hatred of homosexuals.”

Miano said he did not limit his remarks to homosexual acts.

“I did not speak solely about homosexuality as a form of sexual immorality but also about any kind of sex outside marriage between one man and one woman, as well as lustful thoughts,” he said. “All of these are considered mainstream Christian positions and have been taught and believed by Christians for thousands of years.”

Police took the retired deputy sheriff to a nearby jail where he was fingerprinted. Officers also took a sample of his DNA and then he was interrogated.

“It was very distressing to be arrested and interrogated for openly expressing my deeply held Christian beliefs,” he said. According to a transcript of the interrogation provided to Fox News, the officers asked if he really believed homosexuality is a sin. He was also asked whether he would help a homosexual who requested a favor.

I remember seeing this on TV. This is what we have to prepare for, the result of the new “civil” right movement. He has since returned to the United States to preach this gospel of truth.

I do not understand how people accept mental health. Here is a man trying to get people healed and because of people and their twisted way of thinking and accepting any ole thing. They put this man in jail for sharing the truth. He never said anything against any group but just simply said what all humans should have in them which is whats right. Sad how people allow any thing to be in the world with our children. Then we wonder why our kids do drugs and become alcoholics. Murder, thieves, and make bad decisions.

Queen Elizabeth just gave her approval of the passing of Gay Marriage this week. It just goes to show that population control is moving at full steam and anyone who speaks in public will have some tough times ahead.

Why am I not shocked or even disturbed about this event or video THE BIBLE says that SATAN is the god of this present kingdom or world so whenever an individual makes a stand for the TRUTH of GOD the enemy will persecute them………. GOD has not given to you a spirit of fear but of POWER LOVE AND A SOUND MIND!!!!!!!!! STRENGTH and BLESSINGS TO ALL…………….

Romans 12:1-2 takes on a whole new meaning when you understand that the sacrifice really IS YOU. We need to begin to accept that this world does not want to hear about Jesus, nor does it want to hear they are living unrighteously. Just as the early Christians were driven underground because of the profession of their faith, we must be ready to go to the lions’ den for Christ. Not a pretty picture but OH what a reward we shall receive! Preach in and OUT of season!

Reminds of me of when the apostles were arrested for preaching the gospel.
Now they are trying to basically refrain Freedom of Speech. Trying to control the saints who speak up against sin.
    Lord help your saints.

What? Are you people kidding? Have you read the Bible? Do you not know they crucified Jesus? They cut Isaiah into 4 pieces. Of course we are persecuted for preaching the Lords Truth! That is proof you are doing his work. Rejoice and be happy in their slanderous lies. 😀

Mathew5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

If you read the Scriptures you KNOW you will be persecuted in His name the same as the prophets before us the world never wants to be told their behavior is not pleasing to God.

If we are going to be the salt & light, we also have to be ready for persecution. Jesus told us the world would hatw us as it hates Him. If we REALLY do as He commands we should count it all joy when we’re treated unjustly. Jesus paid for sins He never committed,we ought not feel exempt.

I’m sure that this man expected to be publicly ridiculed or given insults for speaking the truth about homosexuality as it’s stated in the Bible. This is what the world does to God’s people who administer the truth. It’s more comfortable for the world to make sin right and good. Oh well, woe unto them that call evil good and good evil.

ok, this is not new, i remember a while back, some christian organization on you tube was being traumatized in the u.k for not standing for gays, they stated that if you ever mentioned that that lifestyle was wrong, you could lose your job, one man was forced to enter into a mandatory education session regarding the gay lifestyle just because he doesnt believe that that lifestyle is acceptable. after completing the mandatory education he was asked if he had changed his mindset regarding that lifestyle, he still said no and so he lost his job… soo from what i have read its worse over there. but christians this should not surprise us. we are preparing for the 2nd advent.

Like my sister above said this is just the beginning…..To God be the Glory for we are going to see and experience so much more in the near future like never before, satan knows that his time is running out and those who are TRUE believers are going to have to make a decision, for God I live, and for God I will die.
